About Iron Workers Local Union No. 847
Ironworkers Locals 846 & 847 are regional reinforcing specialty locals chartered in February 2004 with jurisdiction in 24 states. The locals currently have over 1400 active members and more than 14 signatory contractors throughout the United States.
Training and Certifications
The Locals conduct training throughout the United States with Eastern, and Western Training Directors.
Michael Hale was hired as Training Director for both regions at the beginning of July 2008. He is presently acting as Eastern Director also until one can be found.
William “Troy” Scoggins was hired July 2008 as Coordinator of the Western Division.
Courses are being conducted at various locations over the multi-state area in order to meet the present needs of contractors and their job sites.
We are in the process of setting up associations with area school system, trade schools and community colleges in order to increase the range and scope of our training. We are also looking for qualified trainers in order to expand our staff.
